Daylight Savings...

I really hate it when I lose an hour of sleep. "Fuck that shit!!!" I sit drunk, laying in bed realizing the implications of a lost hour of sleep on a Sunday while out of town, facing a two hour drive after another full day of trimming on my days off work. However, in the great northwest, we will finally have light after 6 pm and I do look forward to that.

What do you all think about daylight savings time? Does it affect you? Do you give a fuck?

I also do not like DST. The clock thingy. Not to be confused with the poster. He is pretty cool. It was only cool one time and that was when I was at a bar for last call and got to stay an extra hour. Other than that it serves no purpose in my life.

I'm not a fan either. They should move the clock only 30 minutes next time and then never change it again.

its bullshit and fucks with my routine. the dumbass that came up with it should be shot(if still alive, if not they should be dug up , shot and reburied ). finally, it wastes power unlike what the einstein that came up with had in mind.

It was Ben Franklin that came up with the idea to help farmers I think? Its obsolete now. It doesn't need to be done.

Yes he did, but had nothing to do w/farming.

"In addition to the benefits of energy saving, less crime, fewer traffic fatalities, more recreation time and increased economic activity, daylight saving just brings a smile to everybody's faces," Congressman Markey said in a press statement.

Markey should be punched in the mouth.

I keep telling people that as long as they don't wake to an alarm they physically sleep for the same duration of time. Everyone thinks Im crazy. I tell them if Im wrong then when they wake up tired they should just change their clock ahead two hours and they will feel refreshed
Everyone thinks Im crazy.

DST sucks when you're in jail, even an hour added to your sentence is too much! On the other hand when you turn the clocks back you get released an hour early, hmmm

Completely un-phased by it honestly. Just feels weird at the moment because it's already almost noon and I just finished breakfast a little bit ago lol. I woke up around 6 (after the clock change) and it was still dark out, that was weird so I slept for another four or five hours lol. Cmon spring!

Aside from having to adjust my timers, I don't give a fuk.

for me it also means warm weather is near!

Technology was my friend. Everything updated, without a hitch. I slept until 8:30, and the boss lady slept until 9:30. Rough wake up? Not a bit! I made sure I had a breakfast bowl ready, when I went to bed.

Anyone in the computer industry, when they changed DST, will remember what a clusterfuck that was. Made "Y2K" look trivial.

it bothers me more in the fall than in spring. today it will be sunny out until after 7. in the fall there's 2 whole months of waking up to darkness and leaving work to darkness. that's depressing. i don't care about the hour less of sleep because i don't sleep much to begin with.

we could really do without it, though. the whole getting dark at 3:30 in the winter is really obnoxious. seriously, though. who doesn't like 8:30 pm sunsets on a nice summer night?

In the fall of '99 our IT guys were coming through, checking all our machines and applying these day-glo stickers that said Y2K Compliant. I liberated two of those stickers. i put one on a hammer and the other on an old firearm. cn
