day 78 -12/12 just blew my frikin hps

dammit i was all baked sitting in my room in scilence , peace & quiet ,trimming off some of the dead fan leaf tips when i heard somone say *HEY, what r you doin* ,thru the window ,.. well it turned out to be my BF's good friend , he was drunk lookin for a ride somwhere ... anywhoo ..when he said that it freaked me the F out , i jumped up & the scissors flew out of my hand , landing smack dab in the middle of my frikin hps . shattered that sucker

... so i guess harvest will be in about 20 minutes ,, just thought id take a few pics before harvest... i have been flushing for 1.5 weeks , i was going for a 3.5 week flush as she was chemical nuted , o well nothing i can do now ,,veg 3 weeks under 3 26 W 6500 K cfl's ,, flowered 77 days under 70W hps & a few additional 42W 2700K cfl's , .. out of those few 42W cfl's i have 1 left ,, 2 burned out & i put one in my shed cause that light burned out also ,, so all i have left for my grow room is 1 42W 2700K which i dont think will improve anything ,, so after i am about to go roll up a phatty & blaze up while gettin my ax ready ,,

I would let it sit in dark for a while. They say its most potent at the end of a darkness cycle.

,,, so the dark would be a good idea ??,, for how many hours 24,,.?? 48.>?? i remember reading that it makes the plant think its the last days of life & it pumps out more sugars into the trichs .>?? somthing like that .. should i trim the remaining leaves nicely so it puts more into the buds & not the suger leafs ,????

as far as letting it sit in darkness for 24 to 48 hours and having the plant think it's dying and producing more resin, it depends on who you ask. personally, i think it's a bunch of crap. it's supposed to make the plant produce resin and trichs... what does a plant do anyways? you're going to find some people who will swear by it, and others who call it a lie as there is no documented proof that has ever been provided for it. basically, it's just kind of up to you. do you want to try it, or do you not want to take the chance. as it's something that's never been proven, i would just go with how it is.

If you do decide to leave it in darkness take a nug off and smoke it and then smoke the bud that's been in darkness and compare the highs.

Think of it this way......

If you leave your plant in darkness for a couple days....It COULD mature a bit more, become more resinous and frosty etc etc,It certainly wont harm the plant or make it any less potent.

If you don't, You haven't wasted a couple days, But you could have had a stronger more potent plant, with a slightly higher yield,Very slightly higher!!

yeah i decided to give her the 24 hour darkness ,, i did pic a lil nug off to compare ,, i will let yall know if i notice any difference ,, & dammit i dont have any type of scale so final weight is no idea ,,

They can be had at any head shop for like $25 for a small one. Mine came with a calibration weight.

you could always make a ghetto one. piece of wood string. N something u already kno the weight off lmfao.. again its ghetto U wont get the exact weight but hey its nice to kno kinda whatca got.. Find something that weighs afew ounces or so. put it on something like a bed board to balance on!! HA That was more fun to type then to actually try. Cause it will be a bitch to try

hehe ,, i am pretty sure a 5 cent nickel weighs 5 grams right ..?? i can gather up alot of nickels & make this happen , good idea mmclean,, this is how i will weigh my final shyt ... i dont want to spend money on one , its not really a huge deal , just all personal use ... i might invest in one this summer to weigh my final grow from this years outdoor season

ya a nickel should weigh 5 . a dollar bill should weigh 1 gram. a baggie is usually 1 gram, unless its ziplock. So
