Btw get a microscope because pistils color don't tell you anything more than a measure of your room temp. Get a 30X pocket microscope and shoot for 70% milky 25% amber trichs if you want a trippy high, and 50/50 for couch lock, if you haven't started flushing: it's time

I was gonna drown opposed to flush ... open to suggestions

and where can i get a 30x ... like what people use to read newspapers? or something different?

you want to flush for a frosty resin coated sweet plant. Also you could leave her in the dark the last 2 days. Use molasses if you can!

i got that scope (its a bitch to hold still on one spot) but the trics all look really shiny and clear.... Im guessing this means its not ready until the trics look dull and not so clear?

Yeah, the scope can be a pain to focus but you get used to it.

Heres a pretty good pick to make a comparison:

hell yeah.. got my arm steady today and got very few amber, most cloudy but still some clear... am i lookin at days or weeks to mature?

It really depends. make sure you check them every day. It could be a few more days or it could be another week or 2. Just make sure you check different buds on different parts of the plant. You could check a bud site toward the top of your plant that has mostly clear trichomes. Then you could check another bud site toward the middle of your plant that has quite a few amber trichomes.
I guess that is why some growers will harvest parts of their plants and leave the rest to finish up.

But don't get too caught up in only harvesting based on trichomes. You might have some amber trichomes, for example, but the plant still might need another couple weeks to finish.

Its a combination of the plant looking ready, fat and swollen buds, plus the right color combination of trichomes.

day 72.. is it done?

You still look to have some time from what it looks like, day's, maybe a week.Don't flood.....flush.You are taking chances of bud rot flooding plants far into flower.

the calyxes are the little "tear like" bags with pistils sticking out of them in the buds. They swell by the end of the plants life cycle indicating it's fully ripen and ready to be harvested. Get a magnifier glass or a pocket microscope to look at the trichs so you can choose which type of high you want

You have to take a small leaf close to the bud, you cant really hold it free hand. Take the leaf set on a steady surface along with the hand you hold the mag with and wah llah

So if harvestted when the trichoms are still milky i will get a energetic high? will it be as strong as if they were brown trichoms?
