Day 2 flowering. When can I sex them?

So it's day 1 of flowering my 30 day old beauties. One of them is a feminized Blue Cheese, the other - freebie Thai S Skunks.

The skunks are growing enormous and I was wondering when do preflowers usually appear?

Want to know if they're female or not so I can take clones before they completely flower.

anywhere from now until about 13 days in. It varies from plant to plant even within the same strain.
A big key is to make absolutely sure you are getting complete darkness during your dark cycle. The slightest bit of light leaking in can throw it off.

Total & Complete darkness, huh?

Interesting. I might have slight light in there, but I was under the impression that during night it's not completely dark?

Yeah I thought the same thing at first and wasted some time with it, after 3 nights of total darkness I was showing sex though.
So both personal experience and the older more experienced guys here seem to dictate otherwise.
I guess it's a side effect of using artificial light or something, I had the same thought as you initially that the moon would be out in nature so a little light would be okay.
Apparently that is not the case though.

Guess I'm gonna have to build a totally light sealed box tomorrow.

Yup yup have to seal it. Normal nature rules dont apply when your manipulating things indoors.
