If you call his plants successful then we have different definitions I guess.

He doesn't use coco anymore and with good reason, his plants were consistently deficient the entire grow.
i dont know him. ive seen a few of his clips and to me, it looked like he was growing weed using coco and dry amendments... with successful harvests. any chance you feel like elaborating on why you believe we have differing definitions of success?

I have a 100g pot that I used coco instead of peat in and grow in it as a living soil, it works fine with blumats but it took a while to get used to hand watering.

I wouldn't skip the 1/3 organic matter(compost, ewc) added to it though, it will help the mix hold more water. coco+aeration alone definitely won't stay moist enough unless you're running some sort of automatic irrigation. Also with dry amendments you typically want to go with bigger pots unless you plan on supplementing or top dressing regularly.

Peat definitely has much less of a learning curve with organics though perhaps next round you could try side by side or with a peat mix and see which you prefer. Or just go synthetic and stick with the coco.
