O yeah I've had em look exactly like that its from excess nitrogen.
They will grow eventually if u cut down on the N but they will always be clawed like that. in my experience its better to just cut em off.
I trim leaves here and there when needed, but try to keep it minimal, dont wanna shock the plant. May get rid of a few, but wont they still do the neccessary functions seeing that they still have clorophyl and havent yellowed?
