Dark New Growth and Yellow CRISPING old growth

First the formalities. This being my first post id like to thank the lot of you awesome posters for what i have read on this site ive learned a great deal from you so thanks alot!

However, as alot of you know for a firsty its very difficult to distinguish problems that present with very similar symptoms.

As a disclaimer, this is my first grow, just doing 1 plant to see what the deal is with growin before i get in over my head.

1 plant thats been up out of ground for 2 weeks now exactly. 16 Days from seed.

Setup is as follows

Just one plant, 8 inch pot in organic soil. Soil has no information about nutrients on it so i dont expect theres any added. It is organic after all.
Soil components are 20% perlite, 10% sand, and the rest is soil i suppose....doesnt say what the rest is, says organic soil and forest decay

2 23 watt (100 equivalent) CFL Lights 6500k spectrum about 3.5-4 inches away

24/0 light schedule planning on doing this until it loses its sprout leaves then going 18/6

Temperature is regularly 77-80 degrees and humidity about 35-40%

Have fan blowing on it since it came up (stem is green and nice and strong and quite springy)

First week was watering about 15-20 ml every day with drinking water with a pH of 6.3

Second week watering has been about 40mls when i feel about an inch and a half down is dry. Usually been between 1 and 2 days for 2nd week watering with same drinking water of 6.3.

Ive read just today that drinking water has sodium added and from what ive read i feel like i may have a nutrient lockout due to the sodium in the water? Magnesium deficiency?

As you can see she started off a delicious green(can see a teeeeny bit of yellowing in the tip on first pic) and great leaf shape and whatnot, but getting further along its starting to show blackish tips and edges, and now the first 2 true leaves have yellowed and are very brittle (actually broke off the tip just touching it wth finger) I suppose i should mention the yellowing leaves are kind of turning into the shape of a canoe. New growth has a teeny touch of like black to the edges as well, and 2nd set of true leaves have some small yellowing at tip as well.

Still getting plenty of new growth and new chutes coming up like daily, but just concerned as to whats going on with my oldest leaves.

Any ideas? Im going to be switching to pH 7.0 tapwater to try to rule out the sodium issue as well. What shall i do folks? Any and all input is greatly appreciated!!

Please be gentle, at least im not using miracle grow :)

Sorry for picture quality, but the general gist of the problem should be pretty visible. You can pick up the dark tones on the edges of most of the newer growth and also see the change in green color and yellowing.

What is the soil called?

Get humidity a bit higher. Have fan blowing near it not directly on it.

Quit watering everyday. Almost drench the soil, let it almost completely dry out before watering again. In that size of pot for that size of seedling in those good temps you should only need to water once every 5-6 days at this stage.
Did the water sit out for 24 hours or more to allow the chlorine and other agents to evaporate? Depending on the soil, watering with a pH of 6.3 could be too low. Need to know the brand of soil.

Ok will adjust fan, any tip on ez humidity fix? What should i be shooting for? Ok will let it dry out more as well between waterings. The water i was using previously was drinking water which was str8 from bottle at 6.3. When i made the decision to switch to 7.0 ph tap water earlier today i did set aside a cleaned bucket full to let out the chlorine and whatnot. This decision was made after i tested the PH of the drinking water and read the thing about sodium in drinking water. Will update with soil momentarily here.

Yea I was going to say something about your humidity too. It's better to have a higher humidity during veg, and lower during flower. You could foilar feed. Spray the leaves with water and water it that way. I don't know anything about growing, or spraying leaves, but I would think that would help your roots breath, keep your plant humid, and you could keep your room humidity low if spraying the leaves with water will work. I guess you could go with a humidifier. Like I said I don't know about growing indoors, so someone else will tell you better I guess.

Also it's good to give it some rest, and I don't know how old plants have to be usually for you to switch them to 24. Rest is good though. People do something more like 20/4 or something. Again I'm not an inside grower so...

Soil update-its Earthgro Potting soil...and from what i just googled a product of 'Scotts' AKA miracle gro producers lol...any suggestions for a brand that would be advisable to repot into that i could pick up at a home depot, lowes or generic garden store? I know theres better options by going to a specialty store, just trying to get a feel for this first run here, not do anything crazy. Also is it advisable to put something over it such as a dome type deal? Ive seen people with the little boxes for early plants with a lotta dew moisture in em.

For raising humidity in a small to mid size area a cool mist humidifier is best, 30-50 bucks. Just make sure to use distilled water or you will have white film over the plants and other items from the minerals in tap water. In veg 50-70 is great, you can get away with 40 but early on it's important to have a higher humidity. If you can't afford one now just wait until you can. Some just throw a bucket of water in the room but that really doesn't do much.
Yes, nothing wrong with using tap water as long as it sits out for 12-36 hours depending on amount.

Well first off see if there is actually a hydro store near you, or even a basic garden center other then a megastore that sells soil. FoxFarm Ocean Forest is the only thing I use. But IMO you should avoid anything related to Scotts for now, in the near future they are suppose to be putting out new soil lines specifically for marijuana grows although they won't actually market it for that.

Also go here to see if there is a place near you that sells good soils

http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/buyfox_consumer_map.html

click on your state and look for a city near you. Whoever carries FoxFarm soil will definitely have other soils available as well.

That brand of soil could very well be your problem. Many have complained about the mixture being inconsistent, already wet, too hot and diseased. Don't buy it again. ProMix and Sunshine are good brands, but unless you are going to learn how to make supersoils you'll need to decide on a nute lineup as well.

The domes are more for clones as they need very high humidity numbers to root where as seeded plants not so much. It wouldn't hurt if you can't raise the humidity. A simple propagation tray for 1 dollar and a plastic dome maybe 5 dollars would help with your humidity but IDK.

doesnt say what the rest is, says organic soil and forest decay

Ill tell you what the rest of it is ,rubbish. Next time get some good soil, you add 30% perlite (i cant see any in that dirt) some blood and bone etc. Also get the marbles off the soil ,it looks pretty but i doubt it has any benefit for the plant.

Haha ok 10-4 on the rubbish comment. Going to get some fox farms today from next town over. And the marbles were just thrown in to help the water break a little bit b4 it hits the soil,(didn't have rocks for this) so as to not wash a hole of soil out. I too am positive the marbles have no benefit other than that :-) repotting today will follow up in thread and post some pics in a few days to see what it looks like. Thanks for the help all that have replied

Repotted into some fox farms ocean forest with 30% perlite mixed into it about 4 days ago. Process went very well and it was definately the shit soil, was clumped very compact around roots with no breathing room. Plants old growth is no worse/better than it was but new growth is flourishing very nicely and no longer showing the dark edges or any yellowing whatsoever, no new pics to post but added about 90 more actual watts of CFLs for a total of about 120 actual cfl watts for the 1 plant. May start a journal to document this first CFL grow. Anyone recommend when to start doing nutes since i just repotted into the fox farm? should that last the plant for a good while? Thx again
