Good advice Dap. One rule of thumb I use is once i establish where the last branch is going to be on the main trunk. I cut everything off below that and keep the branches extending from the main trunk pretty much naked up to to the screen. Keep a couple of jars handy because your going to end up with a lot of leaves. I been collecting leaves for awhile and have smoked some when times was really hard. Believe me that will make you stop smoking for a minute but anyway. I'm going to keep colleting them and putting them in the freezer and when I think I have enough Im going to do the diy make your own hash thing.

Special note:
I read that freezing leaves actually increases the potency. I grabed a few to test out my cure box and after a couple of day'z of drying and curing with orange peels.... I must confess that blunt was pretty dayam good, no shit I think the freezing thing is true. I'm going to keep working with the theory and we'll see. :bigjoint:

Veg day 8 everything is looking alright I lost a big fan leaf to some type of necrosis rust spots with yellowing on the ridges also slight burn on some tips new growth looks healthy hopefully problem will not persist.

What kind of bulb are you using? I just upgraded to a CMH (Ceramic Metal Halide) and my plants are loving it. It includes all of the spectrums of light and I can use it in my HPS fixture! Its a small upgrade that can make a huge difference, look into it.

interesting idea bud I have given CMH a look multiple times it looks like a really great light very wide in spectrum and very enticing to try but I am a little reluctant don't know if it's going to shorten the life of my ballast or something always thinking of the worst :/ started out with a little stunt in growth but it picked up and exploded I think it was the caretakers error they are loving their home now hehe hows your grow doing buddy I been off RIU for a little while chilling with friends and the ladies ^.^

- ya boy dap!

Merry Christmas! :leaf:

I feel you, my Hydro vendor was trying to sell me on one when I purchased my 400watt HPS. A Brotha was already spending too much so i just wasnt tryin to hear it. I started hanging out at RIDDLEM3.ORG and ran up on a thread where a grower compared a 400watt CMH and HPS. The CMH plant was without a doubt the best! The CMH plant was fuller, thicker, had denser bud'z, and taller! I was sold and started looking into getting one. My ballast is a SunSystem 2, switchable ballast (HPS/CMH). Funny when I first got the bulb I wasnt sure if I should have had it on the HPS or the MH. Its weird but it works on the HPS switch, why IDK Im just glade it does! As far as shorting the life of my ballast, I hope not but I dont think its going to hurt a thing.
Yeah i have to go back to work tomorrow to, sucks but ya gotta make the donuts!

About the CMH bulbs... I have a plant at 6 weeks under a HPS, and a tent with some plants under the CMH bulb that are at 4 weeks. And the plants at two weeks less are frostier under the CMH then the 6 week'er under the HPS. No joke, the added spectrum is WAY worth it. Which includes some good tric makin UVB.

:hump:

i'm definitely interested I just don't want to buy one and it not work in my current fixture the grow isn't that much in importance to me at the moment but if the bulb were to work I would have no problem buying it I have just read multiple threads saying the CMH will fry in a digital ballast instantly get turned off -.-

Yes that is true. If you have a digital ballast, CMH is not an option for you. Magnetic HPS only :-/ Sorry

she is looking good now growth is firing away healthy =)
