Damp Rid and your dry box prevents mold

i just saw a commercial for this it says it removes moister and prevents mold...... this should be something else to fight against mold in your grow box.
 
DampRid is nothing new. Lots of people have used it for years. What's better than DampRid is plain old silica gel.Like the little moisture absorbing packets you find in new shoes. You can buy a 900 gram box that protects a much larger area than a damprid bucket would, and there isn't that strong "dryer sheets" smell to it like damprid has.
 
No problem. I actually had somewhat of a dilema a few years back involving not enough space to dry in and discovered the wonders of silica gel. For spaces with few ventilation options it works in a pinch to help combat excess moisture. It is by no means a replacement for traditional drying methods or a dehumidifier so keep that in mind.
 
I like the the silica gel packets from shoes . I put then in my roll away toolbox to protect my tools from rust on humid days. I just put one in each drawer and no worries. I have 30 years of tool collecting.
