Damn

Just got hit by flash floods last night. Never in my 32 years alive have I seen devastation in my community like this. People's homes are destroyed. Streets are gone and destroyed, vehicles destroyed, basements completely flooded, water pipes in streets busted and same with fire extinguishers. It's horrible. I think there declaring a state of emergency and the national guard might be coming to assist in repairs. My basement was slightly hit. A few feet of water thos morning. More flash flood warning for later today and tonight and tomorrow. Got a lot of work in the basement to do tonight as that's where my room is. Electricity was in the water this morning. No good. Everything seems to be OK though . Find out more tonight after lights come on

i had a hot tub pump and motor get in a flood while still running. completely submerged.

i powered it off as soon as i could.

once everything dried out it worked fine...

Sorry to hear that. We lost a generator and a lot more last year in a flash flood. Still cleaning up. Never found any of it.

Fuck. Shits crazy. I'm in Houghton Michigan, google my location and flash flood and you can see crazy pics. I guess Wisconsin and Minnesota were hit too.

Holy shit. My buddy here is from central Michigan somewhere. I had not heard anything about this. Is there a street left?

I'm in the upper peninsula. Waters contaminated and has bacteria now health department said to boil water before using for anything. Water supply is all tainted. Restraunts shutting down. I live in a small community and god wreaked havoc on us

Bleach. Use liberally. Don't wade in water barefooted. Sorry, man. I've been there 3 times. The insides of homes and businesses usually screwed up longest.

Too late. I was in my sandals this morning down there plunging the basement for a while. I'll go shower right now. Whoops. I didn't know. Why not go in it barefoot?

I feel for you guys in the UP. I’m down just a bit from you and seen it on 9&10 news about the flooding. Stay safe.

I thought was having a terrible day. I wish you a fast recovery from this disaster. I pray your family and friends are ok.

Having a better today than yesterday. Yeah it's messed up but at least it stopped. I'm glad I live on top of a big hill. Lots of people weren't so lucky. I just had a flood in my basement. I can't complain about my damage cuz I resolved it without any damage occuring.

Some lost there homes and cars and we lost roads. That's replaceable. Nobody died at least up here that I know of

You have a lot to be thankful for. A few years back when Joplin MO got hit, my friend went around giving out water and supplies and taking donations for them. Helping others in a time of need pays back big dividends for you as a person. I hope there are those in the area who are able to help pull the community back together.

Beaches are all closed due to e coli and bacteria infecting the waters. Lake Superior is contaminated

This is why bleach is your friend. Rubber boots too. Septic systems or city sewage systems flood and join the water. Chemicals stored poorly everywhere including my place with gas cans, oil barrels. Hope you guys get back to normal soon

We're working on it. Roads and stuff are getting repaired. Nobody got flood insurance here though and home owners insurance won't cover flood damage. So a lot or people are really fucked. They lost there water boilers and furnaces due to basements flooding. Some lost there whole homes. A 12 year old boy died
