Earlier I went to prop up a branch and used a stake that was about a quarter inch squared. I dont know why I wasnt thinking but I inserted it at the edge of the pot, and as I stuck it in heard all kinds of roots snapping.
Any one have experience with this, will I have any problems, I know theres is a ton of roots, but it did sound nasty. Root damage?
+rep for help, thx guys!!!!!!!

yes it sounds bad and there is some root damage but it wont harm the plant its better to stake than to let the branch break.

If the plant is healthy it won't phase it, I do it all the time. I use skinny sticks in my soil and hit roots usually, it sounds bad but doesn't seem to harm the ladies.

If anything it's good and promotes new root growth in different directions....

People use smart pots etc to air-prune roots constantly
