damaged seed germinating?

just got a batch of seeds in the mail. unfortunately one was cracked during transit, and had turned half black.

I went ahead and popped it in a cup of water to see if it will germinate, because it obviously wouldn't if I waited. Well, it's been a couple days and it looks like it's germinating...

My question is... I am wondering if the plant could end up being sickly or damaged in some way? Coming from a seed that was cracked for 24+ hours and half black, I wonder if the plant will face problems down the road?

Only one way to find out. Just grow that mother sucker and see what comes of it.
Toss it with the others.
Treat it like the others.
If it's a dud no big deal.
If not then hey no worries.

well that's kinda the point, I'm planning on a certain number to fill the space.
so if anyone has experience or knowledge about such damaged seeds being a problem then I would like to know so that I can plan accordingly.
