Cuttings turning some yellow and purple after day 5

Some of my cuttings (depending on the strain) are turning yellow/purple after about day 5. These ones that are the worst take longer to root, while the ones that don't turn this yellow and purple get roots after 8 days... This happens when using clonex at a ppm of 350 and pm'd down to 6 range when they are cut and this happens using just plain tap water.

Cut the damaged leaves off after rooting, the leaves that eat themselves a bit don't matter. If they root and grow in 8 days, you have a pretty damn good rooting rate.

I start with a ppm of 150 with cuttings. Very low until week 3 or so.

Hope someone can help you!

In my experience this happens when the mom has a PH problem that you aren't detecting right now. They will still root. But could be a little bitchy at the start.

Huhh interesting... I ususally keep the ph in the right range 5/.5-6.1... About 65% of the cuttings root around day 8-10... The others will the worst problems as I mentioned in the 1st post take another 5 days or longer... Also noticed my clonex solution (Make the ppm 350 for cuttings) is about 1.5 years old...

BTW these clones the previous rounds did the same thing with just using 150ppm tap water.. I feed them to 350ppm bc the roots come in stronger and thicker.

@MidnightSun72 this is interesting bc about half of my cuttings did this and the other half did this a small amount. The only one that didn't do this was from an outside plant... Do you think this could happen bc I don't change the water rez of the mother's that much? I usually don't change the water until about day 15-18 although the plant stays in the ph range of 5.5-6.2 in DWC.

Might be ph is high for this strain to throw roots, might just like acidic environment to throw roots in. Other than that, no clue.
About 70% of them get roots in 8-9 days, however the bad ones (pic in first post) take longer to root and the flowers get worse in color. A ph in DWC of say 6.0 is high too root?? Do cuttings prefer a ph below 5.8?? Some people say not to even ph cuttings until they root.

Im not sure but am not ph ing cuts and am having way harder time then when was using lower ph. Im not saying anything. Just talking from what l know after thinking about your post. Thank you bc lm going to try something extreme with a few now. Ive had a hard time with mortality rates recently. Environment not great in summer here.

I take the cuttings when rooted and put them in my veg rez when they are babies and they are in there for about 20 days. In those 20 days I DON"T do a rez change and the ph flucuates and I don't keep an eye on it.. I'm gonna try to change the water out at 10 days now and keep an eye on it . I do DWC.

I don't PH my cloner res either. I am saying when the mom isn't as healthy as you think she is sometimes the cuttings turn purple and or have different problems even though the cutting may have looked good before.
