Cuttings straight to soil?!

OK here is my dilemma...
I took some cuttings from a glorious Mother plant last night and done everything by the book to the point of putting them in my cutting bucket, this is were my problems started. The pump had broke so was no good, as I had no rockwool cubes etc as my aeration bucket is so good..normally! I have had to put the cuts straight to soil. Does any 1 have any experience/tips for this method please? Sitting over them nursing them 3 times a day isn't really an option so at the moment I have them under a florescent light and spray them once a day. Thanks for any helpful info in advance.

Yeah taken cuttings straight into soil for years, normally 2-3 weeks for roots poking out the bottom of the pot etc, only started using coco plugs/root riots etc in the last year or 2 and while they are slightly quicker at rooting i had a higher success rate with the soil

I have rooted three clones in soil and failed in all others root thing amazingly( :) <-- noob) lol, do you have a propagater or is the temps warm at spot where you put them?
I found it more successful in an electric propagation or under heating mate best for soil and I used just peat pre soaked it with clonex mixed water.. I dipped my clones in clonex then (wilkos in England) rooting powder then in the soil... The only failed ones in soil I noticed that when I put the clones down I didn't squash the medium down after putting the clones in and that caused air gap around stem of clone.. Hope it helps and they do take around two weeks for roots to pop out of bottom but you will have lots of good roots.. Good luck

Done em for years in dirt. I put them in a small clear tote that has a cover and put clones (clonex) in small white styrofoam cups with holes in bottom, set them in about three inches of fluffy soil on bottom of tote, water the cups and mist the soil, roots in 10 days. And yup, use heat mat.

Lol rockwool and that sponge thing was a fail for me..... Abit of picky picky ooolllddd schoool does the job loool.

Cheers everyone. I currently have them in a small pot under the florescent was thinking maybe the 600w light (with cool tube). I have since fixed the pump to my bucket do you think they could handle the switch around...again?

Pretty sure they should stay under the flo's till roots established. As for switching media, I would wait as well. What system do you veg in?

you totally could have just let.them sit in the water. I ussually clone in peat pucks, but I have cloned succesfully in a lot.of mediums. a glass of water is probably the most fool proof way in my opinion.

when I top my plants I ussually dont put a lot of effort into cloning the tops, I'll just stick em in a glass of water (or two if theres a lot) on the counter and dont touch them. withing two weeks I have roots. all the ones that are rooted like that are given away because I dont want to deal with them but it does work fine.

I normally use an aeration bucket under a cfl and and have 95% success but had to change it up this time going to check on them shortly it's day 2 now so see if the are looking ok.
