Cutting the top of my plants? Growing to tall

So here is whats going on I am pretty sure my plants are big for this little aeroponics system that I have them in, it is a 10 plant with Skunk #1 feminized seeds, So far I have 8 out of ten that are females, for some reason my tallest plants are females. They are exactly 3 feet tall and are 8 weeks and 1 day old; they have been into flowing for a week and 2 days. Advanced nutrients grow, micro, bloom, piranha, nirvana, sensizym with a 400w hps. Should I cut the top of the plants that are growing to tall to stop it from growing up, which I would keep as a clone. Any suggestions on what I should do?

take pictures of your ceiling, is that really as high as you can go? if so.. fuck.. you should put them back into veg, wait 10 days , then cut off the top buds as clones and then put em back into flower a week after u take the clones :| This is a barbaric and relatively stupid idea (in my opinion), so don't do it unless someone says it's a good idea. I have no idea how that would effect things, but I'm not sure you have a choice. Putting your plant back into veg and taking clones to shorten it seems like the only option, the good news is the topping that'll take place!
