cutting roots??

i have three plants(blue cheese,white widow,and bcgod bud) in one tub that is 15 gallons. i need to put them in individual bucket drip system but roots are tangled. the root ball is thick under each plant but are sorta tangling with other plants roots. can i cut the roots if its not that thick so i can sepperate them ??

You can safely cut them, I;'ve done it 7 times, separating males from females. They might go into shock for one day, but not everytime.
