how the hell did you guys do it? I cant use the circle drill cutter because my net pots are 8inches and have already beast moded 2 lids and am on my last one. ive been looking at a circle cutter a hope depot/lowes but they say its for drywall a few other things >_<. any help will be much kudos. stay high :)

Lol man i flip my lid over set my pots on um trace um..Take um off than take the marker and out line the inside of the original trace..I take a fancy utility razor knife and cut along the inside outline. Works everytime for a nice clean snug fit. Ive also used regular kitchen knifes but the razor slides right thru the Rubbermaid tub lids like butter. If ur not sure keep ur cut even smaller and just cram the pot down into the lid. It will still work and u will be better off not worrying about plants falling into the res later on.
Hope that helps.

dremel works the best and fastest, always cut smaller though on the first cut, i had a bad experience with my net pot actually falling threw the lid at 2 months old because of the weight of the plant forced it threw the hole:joint:

Lol, kind of a funny thread.... How to cut holes in net pots..

I just used a drill bit or a pencil I think, stuck the pencil in the middle... stuck my finger in the hole and massaged it till it was big enough to put something a little bigger in to... such as a large STEM.

Harbor Freight, bro. Walmart of tools if you've got one in your area, and second only to a hydro shop for useful shit. I used a different method to cut super clean holes in my rubbermaid, but it might not work if you need an 8" hole. Take a soup can that has a diameter a little smaller than the net pot you want to use, eat the soup, cut off the lip of the can with a sharp blade tool. You should now have a can with a relatively sharp circular lip. Turn your range on high, set the can on top until it's hot as fuck, then pick it up with an oven mitt and press it down into your rubbermaid lid. Hot knife into butter. It smoked a bit when I did it, so ventilation is important, but it wasn't any worse than dropping a plastic spatula on the stove by accident.

You might be able to find a coffee can or something that will make a hole big enough for your needs.

Why would anyone poke a hole in the bottom of an 8" net pot and stick a stem in it?
