Cutting Fan Leaves

Hey people whats going on? I have a few pics of my girls and as you can see they have big leaves. I have a small grow space (as I had to give 2 other girls away) . My question is, is it a good idea to cut the big leaves so more light can get to those buds?

Better to tuck the leaves instead of cutting them.

Those leaves are what soak up energy to make your buds bigger. Leave em!

If my plants looked that good I'd find a way to give them what they need

maybe some cfl's in the right place to just help a little

I use paperclips on mine so i can move them around allowing light to get through

as the the plants matures they will drop leave they dont need

I see a lot of threads with folks asking about cutting fan leaves because of overlapping fan leaves, or fan leaves shading bud sites. Tuck one leaf away, and an hour later it has popped back into place. Tucking leaves is a never ending task!



I use a simple paperclip to clip a leaf set together by the leaf stems to let light hit the secondary branches.

This technique works good in veg and flower. Start doing this early in veg (around two weeks) to keep light at the nodes to promote the secondary branches. By the time you are ready to flower the plant, all the secondary branches are even for a nice canopy.
