Cutting early

Hey guys, I was wondering whether cutting your trees early (2-3 weeks before the breeder's end date) will reduce potency or only weight? I know it will give a more cereberal high but I want to know does trichome prodction really bulk up right at the end? Should one try to stick it out? Thanks

Yes you should try and stick it out. Make sure all your trics are cloudy and not clear, there is a big difference in a ripe bud and an unripe one

Bigger effect on weight then potency. Amber doesn't mean more potent. It just means that thc is degrading into cbd's and cbn's. Thc and Thcv give you the cerebral; high, the cb"s cause the "stone" or couch lock effect. So going amber just transfers more of the effect to stoney. Depends on the effect YOU like.

I grow sativa, for the cerebral effects, and NEVER wait for the trichs to go amber...cut at cloudy (for me) to preserve the sativa effects.

THC does not become both CBN and CBD when it degrades. Degraded THC becomes CBN and amber trichomes is a sign of oxidized/degraded THC.

Cannabis produces 80% of it's trichomes in the last two weeks of it's life cycle. Harvesting 2 weeks early will mean your bud is only one fifth of the strength it will be two weeks from now. When in doubt, wait a week.

Alright, thanks for the advice went out and got some better odor control so hopefully I'll be able to stick it out to the end. Happy smoking!
