Cutting Clone from flowering plant

I have a Really, really impressive set of plants growing, they are a Cheese strain. I am wondering if I can cut a few clones from these to keep vegging for the winter as indoor grows and have my same genetics for next growing season. I wish I had a good camera to take pics to post, but, I think I will see close to a lb. per plant when these girls are done.

Yes you can, but it takes longer for them to root than a vegging mother plant would. I am currently rooting two clones from a budding plant.

well it all depends on how long you have bin flowering i think its safe to clone up to 2 weeks in flower any more and your percentage of sucess will diminish you could also trim your mothering plants and once you trimmed her put her back in veg leave fan leafs on her and some lower bud sites she could very well revert back to veg but it will take you a long time you could even cut the stem back to where bud sites are and she will grow

I guess I will venture out to her later with a cup of water and a razor and grab a few clippings and see what happens. I've never seen plants as big and healthy looking as these are and Definitely want to regrow this strain. Thanks alot and I'll keep posting progress.

yes. the clones will be extremely bushy since they were taken from a flowering plant and your going to need a pretty large area to keep them vegging inside till next spring.the clones work good for scrog/lst growing and make great mother plants. If you do veg inside till spring like you are planning its actually pretty exciting imagining how big you could get your plants by harvest time next year, it will put this years harvest to shame.

As mentioned, you sure can.
Also,, you have the option to re-veg after the harvest and grab clones later from the re-veg.
Takes a bit of time to re-veg,, but you've got plenty of that and may very well be a good option for what you're looking to do.
A little "search" will fill you in on tthe re-veg thing.
Good luck & enjoy.

Take some cuttings if you're less than 2 weeks into flowering. Any more than that I'd try to revert something back to veg, but then you'll probably have to veg that out until next years growing season, which probably doesn't sound like the best idea lol.

Thanks alot everyone for the advice. I am gonna try to clone as the mother plants are in the ground, not buckets and digging up right now wold really mess with the roots I think. I will havesome awesome big plants going in in the spring though, should be a sweet season next year.
