cut down in its youth

i had a small plant growing in an abandoned lot,it had been into flower for about 3 weeks and the buds were lookin great. Anyway,i came today to tend to it and found tht the whole feild had been mowed down. i took a small portion of the rootball and what was left of the stem. i have the plant in a pot indoors now and my question is will it grow from the roots or can it resprout without any nodes left. i know they are not a perennial plant but i wanted to grow it out and use it for clones. it was a bagseed but it smelled soooo good, kinda skunky and reallly lemony. im was so sad lmao, u should have seen me

Danm... Devastating.. This happened to me as well. When I was in high school I use to tend to my plant in this feild on my way home. Went to water and boom! It was all choped down.
