cut clones

why is it that a lot of the time i pick up a clone from my local dispensary their leaves are always cut at the end? (notice the right leaf) first off, why? and second, does this effect the way it grows at all?

the fan leaves are clipped to prevent further growth, and work as stored fuel to aid in providing food until it roots. does not affect new growth.

think about that for a minute. why prevent further growth?

if the fan leaves are not trimmed they will continue to grow larger and the focus will not be on growing roots.

so should i cut the leaves which weren't cut? as you can see the left leaf is slightly yellow? should i trim the tips?

2 reasons. 1. To reduce transpirition.
2. to reduce the amount of photosynthesis since it doesnt have the root system to really support it.

Thats the reasoning behind it, personally i dont bother doing it.
