W wiseguy316 Well-Known Member Feb 13, 2011 #2 the fan leaves are clipped to prevent further growth, and work as stored fuel to aid in providing food until it roots. does not affect new growth.

darkdestruction420 Well-Known Member Feb 15, 2011 #6 2 reasons. 1. To reduce transpirition. 2. to reduce the amount of photosynthesis since it doesnt have the root system to really support it. Thats the reasoning behind it, personally i dont bother doing it.
