Curly Caterpillar...how do I keep them away

Last year my outdoor girls were over run with these caterpillars, Curly I think they are called. I believe the white butterfly's we see flying all over are place are responsible.
Bought some "Safer Brand caterpillar killer" but would rather find a way to stop them before it gets to that stage.
I've heard a garlic type spray applied regularly will do the trick.

Any thoughts?

Thanks but not sure how that will stop butterfly's laying eggs on the plants?

do you folar feed? the fert will kill off the eggs as there layed

I'm using Foxfarm, you think folar feeding this will help stop the butterfly's laying eggs?

Organic ferts won't stop anything. If foxfarm isn't organic then,yeh it will work.

Today was my first time spraying Safer Caterpiller Killer. How did it work for you? 15 minutes ago I read a foliage spray with garlic & hot chili pepper will keep them away, of course garlic & a hot pepper spray will keep almost everything away.
