Topsoil.... Thats your main problem, do not use in pots or indoors :-)

Yes, go to your hydro store and find a soiless medium or build your own soil. Not very hard but some brands are not made for indoors or cannabis. Wrong ratios of nutes pre mixed in... Or some bugs they didn't pasteurized our chemically kill off as well as molds.

Spend some money on some good soil and you won't need much for nutes...

Any basic potting compost or soil will do, topsoil is like mud, clay and loam etc etc :-)

I use a mix of promix and hot, live composted 3 yr old shellfish compost. And additives according to plants going in.

There is a treasure trove of information on youtube by biologists explaining how to grow the right types of microbes (mostly fungi) for our soil, so controlling weeds and diseases.

Does this also take care of bugs?

Bugs are easy to control in a small tent. Gnats are pretty harmless for soil grows, i have a few take downs for thrips, moth larvae a little more troublesome and ive yet to get a single spider mitecinfestation ever :-)

OK so It doesn't take care of bugs....

Start with good quality soil. You're welcome

Who says everyone's in a small tent

Who says everyone's in a small tent

No one says that anyones in a small tent but i did refer to anyone in a small tent that encounters bugs as being an easy situation to deal with.

Most hydro shops ive been to were pretty void of bugs but most garden centres ive been to have quite the population of gnats and thrips.

Update leaves are still curled but are not getting worse newgrowth is twisted and not looking healthy found 2 stink bugs on my plant have looked it over top to bottom no more spotted
