Curing with fruit

Is it true if you put say orange peels in the jar while your buds are curing they will start to smell like orange?
Wanting to know really bad :weed:

lol................ur bananas :) lemon or orange peel may change the flavour but its usually used to add moisture during curing so if your doing this watch out for moldy bud :)

take a piece of tin foil, put a slice of lemon in it fold it up so the top is open, sort of like a cup. Poke some holes around the sides but not on the bottom so no juice can drip on the buds. I let it sit in there for 24-48 hours, checking it every 12 hours or so. Works like a charm, notice the difference in taste or smell of the buds once taken out of the jar.........................:)

my uncle used to do this all the time with shitty mexican brick weed, yes it really works, i've used lemons, oranges and strawberrys.

It does work to some extent.
The flavour and odour change doesn't persist for very long, the terpenes of the strain usually take over sometime after the peels are removed.
But (as already mentioned) the main reason people use fruit peels is to control the relative humidity in the jars (to add moisture).

did it...last month. works but not like you think. did it with the peel, would recommend using the actual fruit if you try but really not worth the chance of getting mold. risk vs reward you could ruin a whole good crop by adding wet fruit to your sure. wouldnt be good...

the only time i use fruit is if i get a bag and it's over dried. i will put just the peel or a slice of apple in a tupperware and let it sit over night, it usually re-hydrates the buds and adds a hint of smell, no taste tho

I've done this a few times back in the days with some regs and yes it will make it smell like oranges, but it still wont taste like oranges
