curing problems

I followed the thread about curing and cutting my plants and they still are not curing and smelling nice. I hung em till crispy, did the bag thing for several days then started to sweat them in jars. Its been two weeks and my bud has no smell and is still dark green and a bit harsh?? So I remoisten them with a orange peel, but still can't get a nice aroma. These plants were given to me, but I am not sure of strain, could it be that they were never too dank to begin with? I have been out of the grow loop for several years, so just getting my feet wet again. Thanks

Post some pics and a smell description at least:leaf:
You need to give one of the buds a good squeeze,if it smells like nothing still and is not sticky someone may have given you hemp

ok thanks, I will get some pics up. The bud is good, just not super dank like I am use to. then again the room never really had an odor during growth. They smelled good, but not that pugent dank smell. I thought I had good ventilation! hahaha

If the strain isn't smelly, the amount of flushing you did, grow ..all these can affect taste.. If they're from bagbean they won't taste like Skunk...I'd be happy that I grew the bastard and puff away after 2-4 weeks cure.. free homegrown tastes sweet..say that to yourself.....
+rep for growing plant.

Some strains don't have much smell simple as that.
If it stinks when you rough it up its most likely a low smell strain.
Try curing it for a few months to get the best out of it:leaf:

I put all the head colas in a jar and threw it in closet, my idea is I am going to add a cola from each grow to the jar to monitor the progress. Going up to canada to get some seeds this weekend, instead of relying on clones from a friend of a friend of a friend you know the deal.

Did you flush at all? How quickly did it take for your buds to get crispy edges? What was the temp. & humidity in the room you dried them in? Too dry/hot during drying will seal in moisture, and will make it longer, and harder to remove that moisture through curing. I would be thinking more about smokability than smell. Keep curing the buds till its not harsh anymore atleast. Have fun gettin' seeds in Canada...if your near BC your lucky, but if your an East Coaster like myself then Niagra, and Toronto both have good banks with many choices.
