when it went into the jars it was manicured to final stage and the stems were able to make a good loud snap and not bend right? You open the jars 2-3 times a day for at least 15 minutes per time? Storing ina dark no light area like a drawer or closet? jars arnt packed just have enough buds to lightly fill each jar?

Horrible as in it smells like gross plantness...I don't know it's hard to explain. I KNOW it's not mold

Yeah I manicured all buds before they were hung. All stems could be fully snapped off when they were put in. I opened the jars for about an hour or two for 5-7 days, then the jars have been sealed shut since. They sit in the back of my closet, lots of room to breathe in the jars

How do the buds feel if you give them a little squeeze? dry and firm or slightly soft and moist?

I have found that if you do not let them hang long enough and then jar them, they get that planty smell it it pretty much never goes away. But if you break a nug up with your fingers you can then smell the real bud smell again.

It will be fine. My cure had a chlorophyl smell that stayed in the jar up to the forth week of curing. I believe I harvested about a week or two early, but it was at the right stage for the high I wanted. I aired it out for 15 minutes a day for 3 weeks. It is now at 8 days drying and 6 weeks curing and smells like very potent smoke, but then it is very potent.

I haven't smoked any yet, so I have no idea how good it is....I'm not in any hurry to smoke it so I'll keep it in the jars for longer and see what happens.
I did flush for a few days....not the recommended 2 weeks though. My colas were getting so heavy the plant was falling over on itself....and stoner me I cut it down before thinking about staking it up with some dowel rods

It will take a long cure to get all the chemicals it can out. An 8 week cure should do it. Also it seems you may have harvested early since the colas were fattening up at the time you cut them. They usually have 1-2 weeks after fattening has stopped before harvest. Since the plant wasnt ready to die, it is producing alot of gases. Just keep burping them and all should be fine if enough of the nutrients got out in the short flush.

You'll probably find for a while that every time you open the jar it really stinks. Don't bother with what the first whiff smells like, let it air a bit, shake/stirr it up then smell it.

Not dsure what the deal is unless the middle is holding moisture.Take a bud out and break it open and see if the smell is better when broken up and see if any moisture is down deep maybe

Well atleast you didnt grow a .5 pond of that shit. haha, i hope you find what you did wrong though. I feel bad for ya. But you can sell it and say "Hey, this shit is some real stink weed! Never had weed with this kinda smell!" haha
