Hi all,

Here comes the Spanish favourite critical +. Created to stabilise the orginal big bud by crosing it with the vigurous skunk1. I found 2 seeds, luckily, on a street corner and gave to my friend to run. I had never thought of doing a critical + run because there's too much of it kicking around anyhow and i thought i'd seen the strains potential but i was wrong..

Grow report:

This was grown from seed under 400 watts straight into 12/12. We made a soil mixture consisting of 1 bag of: all mix, 100gms of fish bone and blood mean dry cow blood, 100 gms of guano and 500 gms of hummus. A bit of mineral magic, epsom salts, gypsum and limestone. It was waterd with humbolts mycorrizae and left out in the sun for 1 month. The plant was grown in 11l pots given only water during its life expect for 5 or 6 waterings that had humbolt honey, humic, fulvic and enzymes in it. 6,5 ph water all the way. They grew very very fast and starting giving their scent from the first brown hairs. Not as branchy as one would want but they pack on a lot of densly packed flowers on them, and fast. This is an extremely resinous strain, i mean extremely. Moreover it is very resistant to mould, i claim this because the densly packed buds did not get mould even with 80% humidity at times by the end of flowering. It took 9 weeks from seed in 12/12 and two plants filled 2 2l jars to the brim and at least a half ounce more that got took due to impatience. I've come to find that 1 nice ounce has just about 1 liter of volume so i'de say there at the very least 2 plants yielded 4 ounces, no scales so just a guesstimate. Easy as hell to trim, and really but really easy to grow. If you want shit tones of weed and you are a lazy stoner who wants sticky, fat and quick buds and are tired of the hay taste of autoflowers get your hands on this!

Smoke report:
Firstly i am not curing this weed before this report because i know most people are impatient to wait 2 months for its full potential, i will report later on changes with the 2 month cure. It was however dried for 3 weeks at no higher than 20C and 60% humidity :D I find thats perfect.

In terms of appearance you know straight away you are looking at something that has some genetics. I dont know if the picture shows it well but looking at the buds closely is like witnessing a sea of pearls. Seriously hairy buds of an orangy brown colour that are somewhat fluffy even though it was picked at 50/50 brown white, so good bag appeal for those who that is of great importance ;). Very springy consistency, not rock hard. I give it an 8.5/10

In terms of smell this is the culmination of old school weed smell, in my opinion. Resinous with just an ever so slight earthy backdrop and a freshness that one associates with fresh pine all rounded by an overlapping floral after scent. One might associate some citrusy wiffs with it at times as well. In conclusion a great and complexly layered smell that spawns envy in perfume companies. I would not mind smelling of this strain aaaaaall day long. 9/10

In terms of taste this is absolutely mediocre. lol such a disapointment it's not even funny. I've made joints, i've bonged it i have even eaten a bud but nothing.. It tastes like weed, basically pure and simple. None of the smell characteristics have been even remotly passed to the taste, at least now after the 3 week dry. It doesnt taste bad, dont get me wrong, it tastes just like plain herbaly weed. For some people that's great but for the connoisseur it's just unacceptable. Incredibly smooth to smoke though. Giving it an arguably harsh 4/10.

In terms of high it is a pleasant experience. Not the strongest strain by all means, pretty good anytime smoke that has the tendency to make your eyes shut and put you in napping mode. This strain is really good to smoke all day and not do shit, i really mean that. Its not like other strains that you say you could but then they're a bit too strong. This is just perfect and puts you in a state of don't care nor give a shit kind of relaxation. Pretty pleasant to be honest. 6.5-7/10

Overall this strain has shown me why its so popular, and ye it smells much better done personally than what i have seen around, in all aspects. Trouble free, high yielding, great scenting and pretty standard taste and a fall in love with the laziest kind of high. I feel this strain ought to be called the Thugnificent skunk, in reference to The Boondocks for those who know it hehe. I give it a 6-6.5/10 overall.

I agree with most every word of your report. I ran a 'tude freebie on 2 separate occasions and found it to almost grow itself. Above average yield, but avg taste, smell, and buzz. Decent for a commercial strain, I think, but I wouldn't run it for personal stash. Good report.

I never ran their Critical but their Cloud#9 was a fruity/hazy skunky smell that completely translated to the taste (with a peppery undertone)
I haven't seen them for sale in over a year but I just recently recovered a clone from my original.
Friend has S1 beans he made with that T-Mist (col.silver)stuff > I'm also trying and grow very similar if not exactly like the mother.

It is supposedly related to their Critical + but I didn't get any of the smells your describing.
It does have a skunky smell/taste that reminds me of the 80's but with a fruity/hazy/peppery undertone.
Very intense head high on it that lasts for 2+ hours for veterans and 5+ hours on WEAKLINGS.

Kind - haze is known to dominate in most crosses. Quite possible the smells of critical+ are highly recessive and wouldn't show until an F2 cross.

The critical jack herer from delicious was fruity with no spice which I can only contribute to the critical + because I've grown Sensi's Jack Herer and that had only spice no fruit.

I think it is just luck of the draw, some phenos get the fruity traits and do not.

I had a friend who was a jack herrer fanatic, sensi seeds. He got 3 packs of 10 and apparently got 4 distinct phenotypes. The best was a fruity one that i swear to you smelled like peaches and tasted like that peach smint. Never saw them and only got to try that one pheno cause it was his favourite and only a handful of times too.

^ I stand corrected. Maybe it was the jack giving that fruity almost berryish taste and smell.

The jack I was gifted was from someone who had zero experience so out of ten beans, that they pay $350 US for, they only got the one female. This was 2002-2003. I found the taste ok but to much like green bell peppers for my liking, though it was extremely powerful.

Good to know the jack carries some of the skunks fruitiness.

It's now been just under a 2 month cure and its smelling too damn good not to be smoked. All i can say is it has gone up in points for potency and taste, jesus. gotten much stronger, 2 bong rips and i fell sleep in fron of the fireplace at a silly time and slept like heaven. Smell has simply become more itself if that makes any sense, no change really just matured. This strain is nothing that spectacular not cured but becomes something to brag about a bit with some decent curing time, definitely.
I would put the scores for taste at 7-7.5/10 now and 8.5-9/10 for potency. Nice surprise
