Why when perlite works so good ???
i might go back to it, but i've stopped buying perlite since i switched soils. it always seems like an ordeal to buy a decent bag of perlite. it's either overpriced or they let it sit out in the rain for weeks and turn yellow.

I found a place to get it for 14.00/ 4 cubic feet. I think I could make a couple thousand "micro hempies" with that. Call a farm supply or a CO OP. They have it fresh and cheap !!

why clone in perlite when using soil.. is getting roots in 10 days really that different than 15-20days? Why not just clone more often & that'll make up for any time lost. I am in love w/ soil cubes.. so ez.

forgot to mention 8 days was for best results, also strain dependant i believe. usually 2wk for cubes with no special treatment

$14 for 4 cubic feet is a screaming deal. best i can find is $17 for 2 cubic feet but they let it sit out. i have to drive pretty far to get a decent, dry bag for $19 instead. it's easier to just pick up some of those cubes for $12 at the local grow shop and i like supporting them better than home depot or that little nursery in BFE.

Realstyles, I tried to get them to you sooner, but the site would not upload pics for me yesterday.

I personally wouldnt want clones like that.. I like the thought of having a sturdy saftey shell of soil surrounding the base.. rather than have to plant those monstrosities.

those roots grab the soil quick enough. planting them is a bit tedious i imagine is the only downside.

It doesn't matter with hempies, they will be just fine. Not much difference than with an aerocloner. Those last 2 I did in just water 2 prove to another user here how easy it is to take cuttings. They are kind of small compared to others you see on here, but these all came from "bonsia moms".

On second thought, I think there is a difference. I think there are less small fish bones with an aerocloner.

Gotta give you props. I haven't tried that yet, but I might try it tonight. I've done air layering once and it worked but it takes a little longer.

I have taken cuttings from rubber tree plants the same way that you did in the above picture. I scraped the stem a little and wrapped sphagnum moss around it. I never thought about using rock-wool or doing that style of cutting with MJ. That was a pretty good sized top that you cloned !!
