"A man driving on County Road 7 north of Orland Monday night noticed a cow running toward him in the westbound lane.
Orland resident Richard W. Borst, 79, told the California Highway Patrol he hit his brakes and was almost at a complete stop when the cow continued running and collided head-on with his 2002 Honda.
The cow sustained minor injuries. Borst wasn't hurt."
