Cover Plants

I was wondering what plants i could use to make my pot invisible in the garden. Right now i got some herb, salvia (not the trippy kind), maple bonsais, catnip, tomatoes, cucumbers and a bunch of other flowers and stuff. Any plants with a 5 leaflet marijuana looking design are good candidates, plus any fragrant herbs that could mix with the smell would be cool. Suggestions and comments appreciated.

theres this one plant. it has leaves just like a marijuana plant. its called a sparkler plant, or a firecracker plant. i cant think of which one but it gets bright pink flowers on it. by the way, it smells sort of like skunk.

While i could not find a sparkler plant, i did recognize the firecracker plant, but it looks more like a tall grass with pink flowers lol

Id be wary of using anything that looked like pot or smelled like pot , itll only draw attention to it.People dont give tomato plants or corn , peppers any of the vegetable plants much of a second look. Its a vegetable garden..end of.Its a good place to hide a few plants.
Theres been a couple of incidents recently where raids were conducted on homes where neighbors had reported seeing those pot lookalike plants because they thought it really was.
Its never going to be invisable, but care in how and where you plant the plants that will conceal it is what its all about.Tomato plants work well because they are tall and bushy and leafy , plant 3 or 4 of those with a 2 foot spacing in two rows , like square shape or triangle leaving a what looks at first big space empty in the middle , thats where your pot plant goes.Tomatos grow very rapidly , lots of coverage.Eventually the only way it can be seen is if you know its there.

Listen to FMK those maters get bushy and smell strong at times, this wouldn't work for you this year but you could get some "Virginia Creeper" this vine is my main cover for the autos but I have two bushy maters groing plus two younger ones and you can't forget that corn.

Thats pretty much my thinking, but i got family snoops too and the palm trees, vines and tomatoes i already have are doing their job. The first bust with homegrowers is family, too bad i cant get them to smoke mary j lol all im growing is veggies and flowers :eyesmoke:

Thanks for the warning. I would be wise to heed it but a hydro op must be done... or else my equipment is for nothing

Pretty trees but they're often colored at the wrong time of the year though. Same disadvantage of corn rows, by the time the copters flying the corns brown. :(

My recommendation is Spider Plants or Cleomes.

I agree, but it is highly effective just don't put out your cover crop and the pot at the same time. Give your neighbors a chance to figure out what it is and care less first, then it never looks out of the ordinary.

So plant your cleomes this season, they'll seed the beds for the next, then mix in your reefer. :)

I have a few japanese maples, and they always draw the wrong kind of attention. I'd stay away from plants similar in leaf structure. Star Jasmine is a vine with really fragrant flowers. Also mint and lavender are good smelling plants. Blacked-eyed susan's are a vine with nice flowers and it grows like crazy-- good for cover but doesn't smell. There are also a number of passion vines that grow quickly, look beautiful and smell nice too. I live in the south and these have always been good to me. Good luck, cheers!

If i grew weed with my tomatoes in the east the tomatoes would well be finished before the smoke would. I always plant in the borders of my property.
