how long does it take from the day the seed is planted in soil to when the plant comes out of the soil? week?-------this really depends on the light you have...I had my girl in the window and she wouldnt pop then I put her under a flora and a week later she popped but her sister seed didnt so its really up to them but they have to have light.
when does the plant start to smell?-------------ummm I would say when my plant was half the size it is now it began to have a smell but then it smelled more like a weed you would find outside...but now the bigger she gets the more she smells...

I've grown stuff that started to stink after 2 weeks, and i mean a HEAVY skunk smell, but most won't really start to smell untill there about 1-1.5 months old...and the smell isn't much, it's when it starts to produce flowers that it will get stinky. Your seeds can take up to 14 days to germ, but most will open in about 3-4 days, the plant will "pop" above ground within 3-14 days.

Pinksensa; the plant in your icon, about that size, would that be smelled pretty easily?

the room that has the closet she is in smells but you dont notice it until you open the door to the room....if you click on the link in my journal you can see side shots of her and she is like i think 8 weeks, yeah on wed she is 8wks...def. the bigger she gets the more she smells and I dont have a smell deactivator right now lol but homegrown is on the money when he talks about stinky flowers....slean break it down for us we cant help if you dont share the whole picture with us...who are you trying to keep the smell frm??

If I have friends or clients for bussiness over, I don't need them to enter my room and go "what the fucks that smell?" Thats all, less smell the better.

then you def want it away from where they enter...did you read my journal??i began in the fireplace in my great room...where everyone passes by and they never smelled it...now she is off down the hall away from any person just happening by...my house is like almost 2000 sq ft and I only smell it in her closet/room....I have this really ghetto fabulous thing Im going to do with a box fan and some dryer sheets....ill let you know....PLEASE please read my grow journal all the way through and read others too...I try to put so much detail in there so it will help people like you .....because thats how I read reading entire journals and I still read my favs over and over......

yea, im reading yours right now. Im reading up on LST too. Im going to buy some charcol and carbon filters tommarow as well as fans and soil. Im getting a ton of seeds tommarow for free too. =p
