Ive currently germinated 3 afghan kush seeds and will be transplanting to the hempy bucket method in 2 days. I've got 3 5 gal buckets with the perlite/vermiculite mix under 2ft by 8 tube HO t5 lights.
Im having a problem figuring out my watering solution. I was originally going to use tapwater...but couldnt figure out any cheap ways to bring the ppms back to adequite level...if anybody has insight on that pleasee let me know because i tested the water straight out of the faucet and found at the PH reads at about 6.5-7.0 That being said...I was thinking of buying a shit ton of those 1 gallon Distilled water jugs but as my sink water is ph'ed already is it necessary...would anything else be involved if i could get my ppm, anything id have to worry about. My question about that distilled is...is it worth it? will it have everything it needs for my plants and will the ppm be low enough so that when I add my nutes it wont get damaged?
I received my nutrients from my buddy which actually turned out to be better then expected. For vegging ive got the Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow and for flowering ive got the Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Bloom(SOIL). Buddy said the guy at the hydro store said the soil version would work for the hempy method...is that true to anybodys knowledge? I'm curious if this is all I will need for my grow...I heard something about cal-mag but i was confused and couldnt quiet figure that out...seeing as it ties into my water issue. I'm also figuring out how im going to properly nute and water my hempy bucket.
If i were to use 1 gallon jugs of distilled...would I just add the appropriate amount of pbpg into the one gallon container...mix...and use for a few days until the gallon is gone...and then repeat the process. My main concern is if I use the distilled water...will opening it....putting in the appropriate nutes per gallon have any long term effect if i dont use it all right away . Would i be able to water....put the cap back on the jug...then use again 2 or 3 days later(whichever I end up scheduling)or does leaving the water sit kill of the nutes?
Ive also heard somethings about the PBP measurements being wrong. Im confused as to how much I would put into a gallon worth of water at the beggining as it first goes into hempy and how much i would end up increasing it to. Also is there anywhere to get either color changing solutions or the test strips for ppm like similar to ph testing products on the cheap and at a local store?
My last question is....with the hempy method...as soon as i transplant the plant i need to water them everyday correct? until they hit the bottom...then its every other or every 3 days correct? And i assume until it hits the bottom i would nute once a day?
Im sorry for all the questions...i only have 3 afghan kush seeds and dont wanna mess it up! Im sure Im forgetting a few questions but for now this should be fine haha
sorry if those questions are answered somewhere...i did try searching...just couldnt find anything that really helped me. Thanks
