Could Oil Filters possibly work?

I realize this may be a crazy question, but I've decided to build a grow box. I went searching my grandfathers old store room for any possible supplies, save a little you know. When I found an Oil filter for a car, Could it possibly work as in any way as a carbon filter for my new grow room?

nope. First its to small. Second it requires a rather high amount of pressure to push through the filter. Third it has no carbon in it

I was thinking there might be a way to fix it where it could have carbon in it or something, but I figured it wouldn't. Thanks for the help.
