i know money must be a issue but a cheap cooltube is only around 50 bucks if you shop around a bit. dont risk setting your house on fire for saving a few bucks, save up a few bucks a week and juts buy one.

i have also seen some people do a DIY cooltube out of a baking pan thing on ebay

the baking tube is only 20 bucks.........at least if your going to make one use something that is heat rated so it wont catch on fire.

btw, you could also get a hurricane glass at a local craft store, basically just a glass cylinder for a candle and that will probably run you about $10.00, here's a couple pics of one i DIYed a few years ago from 2 of those cylinders and a rubber plumbing fixture to join them. ...the ghetto reflector has been used with both the cool-tube and my CFL light bars, ...in this pic i'm doing a small seedrun with the CFLs.

it's just a multi-bulb bathroom vanity fixture without the trim, here, here's a better look'
as you can see, all i did was add splitters so i could double my bulbs up and mount them to a piece of wood so i could hang them..
...at the time i was using mostly 26 and 23watt bulbs in a mix of blues and reds so each fixture was right around 200watts, so approx. 800 total.
i don't know if you can read the price tag but i only paid $4.88 per fixture for 4 of these at a local builders discount house.
...at the time i was just learnin' my chops and on a VERY tight budget so i was doing what i could, you know?
lol, there's no telling what a dedicated stoner with an abiding need can come up with!
in my case it was a CFL SOG.
