Cooking Soil (Literally)

So i decided to get "Soil" Root Organics Emerald Mountain a try this time instead of Pro-mix, as they are Autos and figured having a good nute-base from jump would be good. Pots cleaned, tent cleaned, seeds straight into soil covered with saran wrap. Three days later go up and remove wrapping, as they had sprouted. While sitting there admiring my little ladies, i see something move...... then another... then all i see is little white specks moving, 100x shows me Root Aphids. :fire::wall::fire::spew:
sprayed with neem oil for past 3-4 days. movement has slow'n but still there, added a Layer of diatomaceous earth Go on mud porch and kick remaining half bag of soil. Then i think "i wonder how hot these little fuckers can take" pour the remaining mix in tin turkey pans cover with tin foil, put oven on 350... lets get baking 3 hours latter i take out the dirt. Got it all in sealed clean container gonna wait and see if the D.E. does the trick, if not i think i will trash the plants and try again..

1. Do you think cooking the soil will kill off the eggs and live pest in soil?

2. Whats the odds of D.E. and Neem Oil fixing it?

3. Should i jus toss them and try again with Pro-mix?

Root aphids in the soil should all be dead. And as for scrapping the plants and starting over.....screw that. Theres a cure for every bug out there and root aphids sound like theyd be pretty easy to deal with. Probably for about 15 bucks.

Won't B. Subtilus and B. Thuringiensis kill both root aphids and fungus gnats? I inoculate my soil with them as damn near every bag of soil I've ever bought had some fungus gnats.

Yes a sub species of B. Thuringiensis is used for mosquito dunks. Both subtilus and BT have insecticidal properties and can live in the soil. Mosquito dunks are not my source though

Also to answer OP more completely I believe it was Soma that cooked soil? Idk one of these famous flower growers used to cook all their soil. You're good. I wanna say I heard somewhere 250 was the temp to use but in all honesty that's a guess at best. Been a whIle since I've read anything on it.
