Converting DWC to RDWC

Got it. So we want the female fitting on the inside. Makes sense. Thank you!
Here's is a scenario in which I would only use the female on the outside.. Or should I say.. underneath a drain pan or flood tray. You can cut away most of the male fitting with a hacksaw, and leave just a small flange, so you can get more of a flush mounted drain. They don't really make big ebb & flow drains that are upwards of 2". So, I would just make my own ;)

It doesn't matter really which way you go when using as a bulkhead, only that you put the seal on the outside. No water can leak through the threads either way.

awesome, thank you again so much. Being that I want to have one Rez and multiple sites that span 2 tents, I'm thinking of a simplified Dutch bucket system. One Rez, some type of manifold to feed drip lines to airpots filled with hydroton and a simple drain connected to the saucer that's gravity fed back to the rez.

Ok, I have the vivosun 4-site DWC kit. I want to convert this to a Rdwc so that I can have a main res outside the tent with my PH monitor and not have to maintain 4 individual buckets.

Any recommendations? It seems Home Depot/Lowes don't really have the parts (tubing, bulkheads). I've been looking at PA Hydroponics for parts but there are so many options.

Is going with a 1" tube a good idea? I'm worried about roots clogging the holes.

Should I do a waterfall? Or just stay with airstones?

Amazon kits seem pretty good, like this one, or this one. Prob cheaper than buy bulkheads/tubing for converting my existing system.

Any advice from peeps that been down this road before?

I did this with a single general hydrofarm. Just add some hose and bulkhead fittings. I did add a second bubbler to the rez but probably didnt need it.
