Conversion Bulbs

Do I need a specific light system for a conversion bulb? Ive been reading the bible so I know the concept but Its a little hazy with the last sentence mentioning HPS compatibility.

The bulb I had my eye on is the "600 Watt HPS to Metal Halide Sunmaster Conversion" and the website isnt really clear.

check out the Faq.

I am doing my first grow but from what i can tell: you use a MH conversion with and HPS system. and an HPS conversion bulb with an MH system.

I did a search........Yeah the conversion part is the key its an MH conversion.....hence was HPS.

i just learned this, if it's a conversion bulb it works in the other's ballast socket.

conversion just means that your ballast is setup to take both metal halide bulbs and HPS bulbs.

not sure of your question but yes conversion bulbs can make a conversion halide bulb work on a hps ballast and vice versa. they are expensive though.

yep $120 for a 1000W MH conversion to HPS at my local grow store
