I was wondering if anyone knew if the old extrasun1000 watt hps only ballasts would run a conversion bulb? The serial info is bas100a

i've never really heard any issues about conversion bulbs not working in certain ballast before fwiw.

i used one years ago in my old hood, and didn't have any issues..
the only problem with bulbs i've had so far was blowing a pretty new eye hortilix blue in my digital ballast..

I got a 6x4 t5 but now it's not enough light n I don't wanna go buy a new ballast to supplement for the next 2 weeks.

how big of a setup are you running?
you'd be surprised at what people can do with t5's imo.. you should check out rm3's thread about his t5 setup and results..

Not only this but.... I used to run solely HPS from start to finish.
As long environment is well controlled and nutrient requirements are being met you don't ever really see adverse stretching from it.
Yes of course now I use MH for veg and HPS for flower. However though that's only so that I can do 3 full flower cycles with one hps lamp before replacing it.

I do love the t5 and it works wonderfully, however bc of time and money I can't buy another t5 and I have 18 babies under it but I have 2 1000 watt ballasts n hp bulbs n hood's. That's why I was wondering if I could just use a conversion bulb

sure if you can find them?
in years of growing I've only met a handful of growers who only tried these bulbs
non stayed with them, too expensive, or not good enough
these (conv) bulbs has been seriously superseded
mostly by the digital ballast

A digital ballast would be ideal, but I just moved and only have my old ballasts and don't have the money for a new ballast n hood. Thanks for the help everyone!
