Anyone ever use a wine cooler to dry?
I found one on Amazon that can go up to 64 degrees and has a built in fan to keep air movement. Iv done some searching around and can only find older posts.
Does anyone still do it and swear by it?
Wondering if this is an answer to consistent year round results? Keeping that 60/60. Im sure it could be overloaded and unable to maintain proper moisture levels if used improperly.

What about the harvest right freeze dryer?
24 hours and it’s ready for jars seems appealing, anyone swear by those? Id like to hear back from people that have personally done it. It’s a lot of money for something iv never seen the finished product of.

Cannatrol is a wine cooler + a dehumidifier. Thermoelectric or peltier is the cooling device you need. This is different than a normal refrigerator compressor

My basement stays around 64, and the humidifier in the tent keeps it at 60%.
Added costs $0
I have to run ac for at least 18hrs a day to maintain that. No basements in California unfortunately.

price of electricity is just insane. Converting a bedroom to a dry room cost me almost $200 a month in electricity. Makes these drying cabinets intriguing since they don’t require much power to operate.

Just want to give you guys an update. I borrowed a friends wine fridge he hasn’t used in years.
working very well!!
Most wine fridges are thermoelectric coolers and regulate humidity but not as harsh as compressors.
this very well could be the answer!!! And the one I’m using only uses 50w… I couldn’t even vent a tent with that… and… the smell is zero…81B47A71-F56F-4054-8316-75089E180886.png

Thanks for the update. Are you currently drying in that? Do you plan to cure in that?

If you’ve got the cash and fancy a new toy buy a freeze dryer lol, lots of people using them to dry bud, even the smaller harvest right ones which were originally only used for hash are getting a good rep for drying herb these days.

I added a thermoelectric dehumidifier to a thermoelectric wine cooler and have pretty much the same unit as a cannatrol, however, the cannatrol has all the settings and pre programmed parameters that could make ur life easier.

I really like the unit I built and itl dry about 13 oz ish
I’m still messing on with temps and humidity but even my first run was far superior to what I’ve been doing in the past. U really can’t deny the difference in a blind test. Terps are immense!
