I am using 6inch diamiter clay pots for indoor closet grow......are these big enough for final yeild or should i upgrade to 8inch diamter or bigger? and anyone know a good description on transplanting if i have to?

I'm flowering in 1 gallon pots quite well, I'm starting 5th daybut then again I'm probably the only person here to flower in such tiny pots!. but you should go to at least a 3 gallon, these are sold in the US as 8" pots. 6" are 1 gallon 10" are 5 gallon.

when transplanting; water, then wait 10 minutes or so, to give the dirt time to firm up. take your hand open it and place it onto the soil palm down with your plant stem between your middle finger and ring finger. holding the plant this way tip over and squeeze the pot sides to loosen up the rootball and dirt. it should fall into your hand if not a little shaking of the pot should make the plant fall out of the pot. while holding it upside down turn it over gently and place it into a premade (next size up) pot filled with your mix. place it all the way into the pot covering as much of the stem as possible filling around its base with your grow medium. water it untill it runs out the bottom holes and leave it alone for a while. when transplanting try not to use fertz for a couple of days, give your plant time to get over its shock of being uprooted and moved.

Is that right?? I would have thought the differences in diameter would have to be much larger. Can someone confirm these sizes?

there is only 2 inch difference in the pots, but they vary in depth. A 6' pot is roughly 6-8" deep. A 10" pot is almost afoot deep, hence the difference in what they hold. although the pot looks only a tad larger, the volume it holds is WAY more than it looks.
that's what the store mngr at target told me when I hounded him on it. he had to look it up in his delivery book, I hope he wasn't just talking out jhis ass.

I am flowering in 1 gallon milk jugs, and even with these I'll be pushing the limits with root space (orlack thereof). I am feeding mine Miracle Gro all purpose plant food (24-8-16) for flowering Yeah I'm sure someone here will bitch at me for it, but it's free (was in the house when my friends purchased it) and it's working so far...my babies are around 14" tall under 2, 4 foot fl's. takes longer to grow under flourescents but when that's all you have...
