confusing grow

my biggest plant has buds, (had buds) all of the hairs turned orange, very quickly, maybe 3 or 4 days, couldnt tell what color the trichs were, maybe clear, but not poss.. didnt have a computer due to a move, harvested plant yesterday and hung all branches upsidedown on hangers in a dark closet.. wondering if I can put all of it in airtite canisters on fridge??? instead of closet. The big problem is that I kept hearing that when 80% of hairs turn orange, its time to harvest,, is this correct.. Im asking this because this plant was only in 12/12 for 4 weeks 2 days,, but looked ready, confusing. HMMMMhmmmmHMMMM. iLL GET PICS IN A FEW...
 
5 days before I cut it, it let out a VERY strong, and very pleasant aroma for only about 2 days, then subsided to a lighter, still pleasant aroma... Oh, another thing, I have this small plant, under a foot tall, just started flowering 2 weeks ago, still small and flowers very small,, but the top bud is turning orange prematurely,, has anyone ever heard of this happening???????
 
I hear ya, I really panicked when I wasnt able to consult anyone, but ALL of the hairs were orange, and I dont know what happens if a plant gets overdone??
 
I thought that it looked done but, I knew it wasnt nearly long enough, live and learn,, can I take these off the hangers and put them in an airtight jar with no access to any light or will that affect the outcome??? any help would be greatly appreciated...

I cant give ya too much info on drying or curring buds since I haven't got that far yet in my own grow..... but I would like to know how your premature buds smoke. Good high? Good taste? Too harsh? let us know please
 
can anyone tell me why my smaller plant (under a foot) that just started flowering, the hairs are already turning orange, and looks like it stopped growing?????
 
I flowered plant for six weeks one time and didnt ever think it would be time to look at the trichomes. Well in the sixth week for some reason I looked at them and the plant was done. Small but done.
