Hey RIU,
I'm making this over the summer and growing in my room. The attached image is what I'm planning to build. I have most of the lumber and access to a wood-shop where I've worked in before. Generally speaking I prefer to keep things out of the way and inconspicuous, and although I am a patient I figure I might try growing for the first time. Roommates are friendly around the medicine though I'd prefer to keep it to myself that I'm growing my own.
I have a few questions though, I'm only planning to build it about 7' tall and grow either indica or hybrids in there. Things are a little bit cramped in there but in 7-gallon pots I figured the 6 girls I can have would have enough room to grow in. A few things I think I missed in the diagram: a pulley system to raise and lower the light-system as well as an air-filter, fan, and air intake. Otherwise I plan it to add double doors on the front with magnets and a lock of course, while making sure everything is light-tight.
The 1008 watts of CFL might be a little much but the space would heat up mighty quick with an HID system. I'd love to go organic but I'm more tight on a budget so a feeding regiment of nutes is the way to go. Might try to go organic once my first grow is done and I can mix and bake up some soil.
Does this look alright? Am I missing anything? I know it itsn't design/setup related but I'm thinking of growing Nirvana's Blue Mystic for my first grow, anyone have experience with that or might point me to a better strain to grow for a noob?
