I don’t like to have bulbs behind glass because you are degrading the light even before it gets to the plants .
But I think the de would cook in there, they are very very hot. You would need a lot of air movement to prevent a magnifying glass affect. I think sealed is the way to go .

The air pots do help, but cleaning the fabric every time, gets old fast.
So far liking the plastic air pots.

Don’t mind the questions, I use to grow for yrs , then met a girl she made me quit, got hurt, got a scrip, got to start up again.

I’ve used a couple different bulbs.
I can see a difference in the Phillips bulbs
They are worth the money. And the plants do better under them.
    Veg with a 4000k flower with a 3000

I have never grew with LED so I’m at the other end.
I think some LEDs are good, but I also think they are over priced. If I bough a top of the line led to replace a 1000, I would need to keep it for a long to to equal the cost of the HPS with a new bulb every year. I think leds lose there value faster then hps so if I wanted to switch, I would be taking a bigger hit.
I’m sure one day I’ll be running them , just not in the near future.
Right now , there’s no replacement for displacement.

Dried, and trimmed this was 50 grams. This was 1 part of a branch, from 1 plant under 1000W Hortilux HPS, and 20 gallons Promix BX. This is dry.

    Plant produced 28oz.

    Strain is Kosher Kush.

Yes, to show how long the bud is.

Heres the guitar. I had it custom made. Its a 59 Les Paul Replica, using all old growth 50s era correct Brazilian Rosewood, Honduran Mahogany, Holly, and Maple.
