coming around the second time

Hey guys -- i've been growing for around 8 months now -- have had a few already harvested, and as a first-timer, it was pretty impressive.

I was growing using 2-100 watt HPS and 2-70 watt HPS in a 5x5 area, but purchased a 400 watt hps and now use it and the two 100-watts in the same area.

i have about 8-9 females coming up on harvest and i wanted to do a little pre-posting to see what i should do in the coming weeks.

i have been using Miracid (Mircale Grow -- 30-10-10 -- 1/2 teaspoon, 2.5ml, per 2-liter water) on these plants for about two weeks at every watering (4-5 waterings) and have been giving them water for the past 2 waterings.

should i add molasses to the water until i harvest? would it be safe to continue using the Miracid until i harvest?

My first harvest i judged solely on the hairs, and later found they were premature when i harvested them. i bought a jewlers loupe (30x) and still have a hard time distinguishing between clear/cloudy trichomes.

are the hairs any indicators at all? some plants now have about 95-100% white hairs, but the trichomes look cloudy... but "cloudy" is relative -- are we talking 20% opacity, 80%? since the hairs are white, do i automatically assume that it is too early?

i would like to think that i am a week or so away from harvesting, but if that is untrue, i would like to continue nuting them...

i am also a month into vegging bubble gum, with 1-100 watt HPS and 2-70 watt HPS in a 1x2ft area. they are doing very well -- adequate ventilation and what not.

how would their growing in a low-lumen environment and then moving to a higher-lumen environment impact their flowering? should i look into getting another 400-watt HPS to go in the vegging area? would it be wiser to switch my setups, light-wise?

i am also curious about drying/curing. when i harvested the first plants, i put them in a smaller brown paper bag barely closed (folded over) for a week, then in a jar for 2 weeks, and then smoke it.

the first few i harvested, i only cut the fan leaves off -- left all the fan leaves growing in the bud there. when i smoked it, i thought it tasted "green," so i tried trimming the fan leaves in the bud off to be no longer than the bud itself, and i like that much better -- are you supposed to trim your buds like that? how drastically can you trim them?

sorry this is such a long post -- i just wanted to hit a few questions ive let build up...

any responses would be great!!

from the looks of them i would say at least another 2-4 weeks.. they dont even look like they have firmed up or anything. i would honestly say you have some time left for sure.. hope someone else can give you some feedback too :)
probably want to wait to harvest until 70%-80%of the hairs are brown. once that happens check the tricomes. also look at the trics on the buds not the leavess.
