Comedy of Errors

Hi all I think I need help badly :(

Growing outdoors in soil
North Spain
Plant just flowering
switched to 4 - 8 - 12 nutrient on Friday.

I noticed a week ago that I had an infestation of aphids. I scowered the faqs on various websites and decided that I should spray the plant with Neem oil, this didn't seem to have any affect so on Friday I tried solution 2 and sprayed with a very dilute mix of washing up liquid /shudder.

Saturday still had lots of little suckers and I had been picked 100 or so leaves off a day for 3 days so I bought some insecticide (active ingredients dimethoate) which you put in the soil in the form of a pill.

The plant has appeared totally healthy apart from the mites now this O.o

A lot of the leaves on the dark side of the plant (ie not much sun) are rapidly turning brown.

I have read that it could possibly be potassium deficiency, the plant is very tall and has appeared to be healthy until recently on a Jorge Cervantes faq. Marijuana Growing: Jorge's FAQ Nutrients : What is fertilizer NPK?

Ok my problem is I don't know how to proceed, I have removed the the insecticide pills and I am at this moment flushing the plant 3 times soil volume of luke warm water.

What next?

Is it potassium lockout?

Could my new nutrient be dodgy?

I know I used the vegging nutrient way tooo long but thats cause I'm an uneducated noob.

Any help gratefully received and thanks in advance

Those are the wrong type of nutes for flowering. You want something like this 4-8-4.

The leaves are nute burn, definitely. I think you should be ok to stop flushing now. let her recuperate. Try too hard to get her better more quickly and you could finish her off. Do not expect overnight success.

If the leaves are useless, and are not catching any sun then they will brown and die off... as they are not needed.

Just keep feeding her the plain ph'd water, no nutes, for a few days and you should see some improvement. Meanwhile, buy some bloom nutes.

Fdd' would be the best man to ask on this really. I'm an indoor grower.:peace:

Many thanks for this SKB, I will skip to the shop and buy some 4-8-4, just got home today and it looks like the top quarter of the plant has died. I will leave off the nutes for a few days and put this down to experience.

The tree was too tall anyway :)

All the best

Before you go... don't take the 4-8-4 literally. It could also look like this 3.1-7.2-2.9... or this 10-20-10... you get my drift? Anything where the 'P' is around double the N and the K.

I don't mean killed past tense... while there is still life, there is hope. The flushing is important... likewise the plain feed you will continue giving it until you see it go nice and green again. This could take a while. You'll lose out on yield.

Stick with it.

Excellent just been out to look for it I get the drift on the ratios, no joy on finding it though. There are some bigger stores I can look on Thursday, thanks again for your time :)

If there are no hydro' stores in spain. Try ebay... there's also quite a few shops on the net that do mail order. Your plant will take at least a week to pick up anyway... at least, an indoor plant would...
