Fast/Easy Hash (From Kief)

So, since I got my new grinder, and I've never done a how-to on this website before, I figured I'd share this method I've been perfecting for a couple months. I've had a ton of experience with QWISO hash, and BHO. Those methods are fine, but not optimal i.m.o. Solvents are stinky, and dangerous. I started looking around the web for a solvent-free method of making hash easily. I stumbled upon bubble bags and similar methods. Most of the ways I found cost money, and I didn't want to spend any. I knew I had a 3-piece grinder with a screen (to collect kief) and had tried pressing my kief with a pen tube before. The results from ONLY pressing it, is also in my opinion sub-optimal. I wanted HASH! I found a couple other methods that I could stitch together into one, VERY fast, VERY easy way to make hash using household items, and kief.



Things You'll Need:



  1. Anywhere from 0.7gs -- 100gs of kief (or more i suppose) :)
  2. Microwave / Stove
  3. Coffee cup / Small glass dish
  4. Pollen press / Garlic press (shown below) / Heavy furniture / heavy person
  5. Saran wrap / small zip-lock bag / sandwich bag
  6. About 20 minutes time
  7. Paper towels /toilet paper/ an old shirt


Ok, I'll assume you already have enough kief and know how to get it so I'll skip that step. Some of these items can be improvised after you understand the method, which is really simple.View attachment 2550641 First you'll need kief! I only had about 2 g's in this picture.
View attachment 2550646 Ok, next you need to get a small bag, or make a small bag. I had a 2g bad with bombs on it. If you don;t have a small bag like this, Saran wrap is your best 2nd option. Get a flat piece of cardboard the size you want your piece of hash, you can leave a little extra. Next wrap your saran wrap around the cardboard making a pouch. LEAVE YOUR CARDBOARD ON until AFTER you put your kief into it. Then wrap the open end up tight.

Whatever kind of bag your using make sure its sealed and is keeping your kief packed as tight as possible.

Next I wrap this bag in another single layer of bag around it also sealed. (Shown Above)



I Then wrap Those (Still held as tight as possible) in 2-4 layers of paper towels. That's probably the equivalent of 5-6 layers of TP. Or 1 or 2 cloth layers.



After that take your coffee cup or other glass dish and fill it with water (only use a coffee cup if your kief bundle can fit into it.)

With your microwave or stove get the water boiling.



If your using a microwave: When its boiling or just was boiling as soon as the microwave stops. CAREFULLY AND QUICKLY place your kief bundle into the cup or dish and place a spoon or something on top to make sure it stays submerged. !!WARNING!! Doing this may cause stagnant water to start boiling again so BE CAREFUL!!!!!


If your using a stove: Get your water boiling and once it is get place your bundle in CAREFULLY then turn your heat off!


LEAVE SIT FOR 8-12 MINUTES

View attachment 2550649When the time is up take your cup or bowl and put it next to a glass plate or sink.

View attachment 2550648Get a utensil to take it out of the water with if its still too hot to touch.

Now, unwrap it without burning yourself (QUICKLY) until you get to the bags. Now is when you press your product. I use a garlic press (right)View attachment 2550642


If you don't have a garlic press you can do 2 things:
1. Put it on the bottom of a heavy persons shoe, and have them walk around for 10 minutes.
2. Put it under some heavy furniture, and if possible sit on that furniture for 10 minutes.


If you do have something similar to a garlic press, put it into that and press as hard as you can for as long as you can. View attachment 2550643


Take your product out of it's resting spot and before opening it, let it get to room temp, if it isn't already.

Extras:
1. The better the quality of kief, the better the color and formation of your hash.
2. Cooking/pressing your hash will make it taste much better than just pressing kief.
