colored cfls?

i had searched "colored cfls" already and couldnt find anything please dont blow me up!

i have been reading that plants need their blue and red spectrums. Would blue and red cfls work or not be beneficial in any way, im sure someone has tried this already...

thanks in advance

i understand that, would it be beneficial to use a red and a blue cfl or would it just be more beneficial to use two extra regular cfls?

by blue and green, are you actually talking about the color of the bulbs, or the k range of them? sometimes people refer to the 6500k as blue, and the 2700 as red.. if your just takling about the actualy color of the bulbs being either blue or red, and not the kelvin range, than no, i don't see them being beneficial for planats..

use normal VEG 5000k's - 6500k's or FLOWER 2700k's - 3000k's

The colored bulbs are all 13 - 15watts and if you found a 23 - 100 watt colored Cfl Im assuming the lumens would be in the 600-900 range which is a waste compared to the 1600-1800 lumens you would get with normal Cfl's..I know you want to re design the wheel but for the money spent on bulbs you might as well stick to the script. The colored bulbs dont do much to your plants that a normal bulb couldnt supply. I would save your money and buy 2 more 65k's with what you would have spent on those party bulbs and call it a day..

If you havent seen any posts or mass pictures of party bulb grows its probly not worth your effort or money to buy those and wait around to see if they benefit you any...:-)

i already have all of my 6500k down to 2700k. the reason im asking is because i can get these colored bulbs for free from my work, and they are the 13 watt bulbs. thanks for yalls input! i didnt understand the color meaning the k range.

Id say they do work from my experience. I had a plant exploding under a 13 watt blue party bulb only. However the leaves didnt look nice and flat like they are supposed to.

The blue bulb put alot of suction on the plant. The leaves were pointing straight up like 90* spread twords the bulb and the stem was bowing straight towards it. I dont have an explanation for this but Im sure the answer is out there somewhere.
