Collecting Pollen ???

What would be the best way to collect pollen from a male for breeding?
Is there anyway to snip off the male flowers prematurely and still be able to pollinate with them?
Is complete isolation from my other plants completely necessary or could i just put like a clear plastic cover over it or something and keep it with the rest of the females.

I'm sure all you cross breeders out there got some good information on this one. Thanks
