coleus

does any one know how to make or even heard of making an extract of the coleus leaf?
I chewed some the other day as a quid and I had some mildly interesting effects, seemed like my vision had image tearing like on a bad graphics card. might be fun as an extract.

I'm interested as well.... there are many old world works that list this as an inebrieant, but I have yet to find any scientific background on it. If you find anything out, let us know.

I have this growing in the house. Didn't know about the effects. I'd be interested if anyone found anything.

i've tried to get high from it and i'll have to say bunk. but i do love growing coleus probably my second favorite plant

there's several different species of coleus, and it seems therein lies the confusion..... there's been nothing scientifically/chemically proven about this plant, but as stated, it IS mentioned in almost all of the oldworld texts of psychoactive plants, so there must be SOMETHING there, no matter how small of an effect. You have to remember that not all drugs are as pronounced in their effects as the one's we commonly think of..... think of chocolate ;)

yeah for sure i think that any effect there was placebo just my opinion. btw there are hundreds if not thousands of varieties of coleus. I guess it could be how salvia is with only the salvia d working for a trip but i'm not gonna start trying them to find out lol. I had tried smoking, chewing, and making tea multiple times each but I never got any effects.

like I said, there is a reason that it is listed in old-world texts.... it may not be as pronounced of an effect as many of the drugs we are used to, but it has SOMEkind of effect, at least one of the varieties.... though it could be something potentially lethal/poisonous, as our ancestors seemed to have that art down alot better than we..... which is the reason I dont experiment with many of them such as the nightshade family.

me and a friend made some mint - shitload of fresh coleus leaves tea stuff and he dident feel anything and I felt mildly disassociated, but he is bigger than me so... who knows
